Love the taste. I use it for Skippy Extra crunchy peanutbutter and Fig sandwiches; Fig on the bead with Bumblebee albacore (Tuna fish) sandwiches. And, on Orkney Thin Oatcakes for snacks.

I liked the flavor and easy to spread

This is by far the best fig preserves I have ever tasted! Thick and full of chewy fig pieces. Loaded with rich fig flavor and not overly sweet. Don't be afraid to try this amazing fig preserves from Mackay's.

Way too much sugar, but as close to Mama's 1950s Fig Preserves as you'll find on today's market. Lots of nice pieces of fig. This is NOT like Fig Jam. It's full of chunks of fig...like fig preserves SHOULD be.

I've been up here in Connecticut for a while now. Most food, I've been able to find or make. But, Fig preserves are so hard to find. These are gooey and delicious.

I bought these fig preserves to go in a French pear tart.... but I've got to order another jar because my husband and I ate the whole jar just with our spoons!! The taste is AMAZING!!! Try it ...it is sooooo good!

If you're from the South, or just love Southern style fig preserves, these are The Ones!!! Even though they are made in Scotland, they taste just like the Southern preserves I grew up with...the ones my mother and grandmother used to make. That means they are a darker colored preserves, and have nice chewy, sweet fig pieces all throughout. They aren't giant chunks (like pear preserves, etc.), but the size is just right for me, and they are delicious. Not sickly sweet, but just the right proportion of sugar to fruit, in my opinion. I bought 2 jars, and I will definitely be buying more! Try it on a piece of cinnamon raisin toast! Yum yum yum!!!

I had been craving fig jam since I visited a long time friend last Summer. She bought some just for me. It was so good I ordered some of same for myself to have at home. Oh my goodness! I don't have to share! Woo hoo!

Both of my grandmothershad fig trees in their yards, so I grew up eating a lot of homemade fig preserves Mackay's fig preserves are pretty similar in appearance and consistency to my grandmothers' preserves, with fairly large pieces of fig while still being spreadable. However, while my grandmothers' preserves tasted entirely of figs (if a bit sweeter), Mackey's preserves are noticeably tart due to the added lemon juice. Figs have a fairly subtle flavor, so it doesn't take a lot of lemon to completely change the flavor. Mackay's fig preserves are still definitely fig preserves rather than .... lemon jam or something, but have a distinctly different and more tart flavor profile than I want from fig preserves. I often pair fig preserves with cheese when cooking or preparing quick appetizers, and the slight lemony tartness of Mackay's fig preserves just doesn't work very well for that, though it's fine to spread on a slice of toast in the mornings.
